Fascial Stretch Therapy

Fascial Stretch Therapy

Fascial Stretch Therapy

Fascial Stretch Therapy is a table based form of assisted, pain free stretching. It focuses on stretching the fascial network, which is the connective tissue surrounding each muscle, rather than targeting the muscle on its own

By using traction and oscillation, the therapist manipulates the client’s arms, legs, neck and spine through a gentle sequence to help eliminate restrictions and increase joint health. Stability straps are used in order to help the client completely relax and allow the therapist to achieve an optimal stretch. Diaphragmatic breathing is essential for the client in order to target the parasympathetic nervous system. The therapist and client relationship is an important aspect of FST, doing their best to match each other’s breathing, increasing the stretch with each exhale.

FST can help reduce pain, as well as reduce the risk of injury. By increasing range of motion and improving muscle function, circulation and posture are positively influenced. FST can be beneficial for everyone and is tailored for each client’s specific needs/issues. Book with Amanda Quilliam, RMT today!
